Uri Avnery: Sharon prepares to sabotage Palestinian elections
Uri Avnery says that Sharon will do his utmost to sabotage the upcoming Palestinian presidential elections, which are likely to be won by Mahmud Abbas - Abu-Mazen. He argues that the election of Abu-Mazen could pave the way for US endorsement of a Palestinian state, risking both Sharon's plan to annex 58 per cent of the West Bank and the future of the settlements.
